Over the years K.E.R.E.A has been a community voice on behalf of its members. With the onset of Devolution, Public participation has become central to Government service delivery. KEREARAPON Estate is well represented on this front. We have worked with the Central Government as well as County government departments with notable success.
Upholding Value of Properties
Kerarapon Estate is a controlled development estate. The minimum subdivision allowed is one single dwelling family unit in an eighth of an acre. KEREA has fought hard to maintain this standard against rogue developers whose plan is to densify the estate with multiple dwellings and undesirable commercial developments. We have engaged the County Assembly of Kajiado with notable success.
Protecting Residents Welfare
Our Welfare Committee plays a crucial role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life of community members by addressing social, health, and welfare-related concerns within the neighborhood. It is responsible for identifying and supporting vulnerable residents, including the elderly, disabled, or financially disadvantaged, by facilitating assistance programs, organizing ed and cared for.
Safeguarding the Environment
One of our priorities is our environment. With commercial interests increasing day after day, KEREA has had to go to court in numerous occasions to fight rogue developers. We have been able to stop or repulse many environmentally harmful developments. Our Environment committee Leader has worked tirelessly to engage NEMA / the Environment Tribunal who have been our very helpful partners in securing our environment.
Youth Mentorship
Over the years we have been a community that through our youth and sports committee cherishes the future of our society through various youth programmes, Talent identifications and mentorship. organizing the Annual youth workshops & events as well as our biggest calendar event which is the Family Fun Day. We have a fully-fledged youth committee led by the youths themselves who also sit at the Excom to deliberate on matters of youth.
Security/Inform & Educate
Since inception our Association has been at the forefront of Civic Education for Residents, Equipping them with information on aspects of development that they may not be aware of. This is the sole responsibility of the Publicity Committee. We also have been able and continue to engage with the National Government as well as the County Government on Matters of security.
